If you are a china painter, or interested in china painting, perhaps you would like to join the Queensland Porcelain Artists association. If you would like more information qpainc@gmail.com We meet in Brisbane in the suburb of Graceville on the second Friday of each month, except January. Meetings begin at 9.15am with morning tea, a demonstration or talk at 9.30 followed by the meeting - and once a month we have a competition of members’ work.
The Association also has a Pioneer Porcelain Artists Branch - the branch covers the Pioneer River region (Mackay Area).
We also have a very extensive library, with nominal borrowing fees. Country members pay return postage only, and are welcome to write for books or videos; Branch members can request items from their Branch Librarian. The library is also open from 9am on meeting days.
The Association holds an annual Exhibition and sale of work in June. This event will be held on the weekend of 21st June & 22nd June 2008 at the Mt Cootha Auditorium. This runs over the weekend, with the official opening on Saturday morning and presentation of prizes on Sunday afternoon. The public is invited and all members are encouraged to participate in the display and competitive sections. Pieces that won the Acquisitive award in previous years are held in cabinets at the Galerie Royale, along with the original Masters Trophy; the latter carries a set of 12 miniature tiles painted by the prize winners. The Trophy and all Acquisitive pieces can be viewed from Monday to Friday at:
